MSN Worm

Τον τελευταίο καιρό, στο MSN, έχει αρχίσει και διαδίδεται ένα "εκνευριστικό" worm, που μεταδίδεται γράφοντας μηνύματα στα contacts και στέλνοντας αρχεία imageXX.zip. Μιας και βοήθησα ήδη κανα-δυό φίλους να το ξεφορτωθούν, είπα να μοιραστώ τα όσα έμαθα, που υποθέτω ότι σε πολλούς ακόμα θα φανούν χρήσιμα.

Το βασικότερο πρόβλημα είναι ότι ο ιός κυκλοφορεί σε πολλές παραλλαγές (variants)! Στα παρακάτω έχω μαζέψει πληροφορίες για τρεις από αυτές. Αν βρείτε κάτι διαφορετικό, παρακαλώ ενημερώστε με να το συμπεριλάβω. Η όλη ιστορία είναι πάνω κάτω κοινή:

Στέλνει επίσης ένα αρχείο με όνομα imageXX.zip, όπου XX τυχαίος (random) διψήφιος αριθμός, το οποίο περιλαμβάνει το:

imageXX.JPG-www.photosmart.com ή
imageXX.JPG-www.photobucket.com ή
imageXX.jpg-www.imageshack.com .

Αν σας έρθει κάτι τέτοιο, προφανώς, δεν πρέπει να το ανοίξετε!



Διαδικασία Απομάκρυνσης:
1. Απομάκρυνση Registry Key
Στο Start > Run, πληκτρολογήστε regedit και πατήστε ΟΚ για να ανοίξει ο Registry Editor. Εκεί, ανοίξτε το φάκελλο:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

μέσα στον οποίο θα βρείτε την καταχώριση του ιού, που μπορεί να είναι:

nVidia Display Driver = nvsvc64.exe ή
Remote Terminal Service = rpmsvc.exe ή
Machine Debug Mgr = mdn.exe

ή κάτι άλλο παρόμοιο (αν μου ξεφεύγει κάποιο variant).
Σε αυτό θα πρέπει να κάνετε δεξί κλίκ και να επιλέξετε delete.

Μην ξεχάσετε να γράψετε κάπου το όνομα του αρχείου που βρήκατε (nvsvc64.exe ή rpmsvc.exe ή mdn.exe)

ΠΡΟΣΟΧΗ: Υπάρχουν πολλά πράγματα στο συγκεκριμένο Folder του Registry που είναι απαραίτητα! Μη σβήσετε κάτι άλλο! Δε θα φταίω εγώ μετά!

2. Κάντε Επανεκκίνηση
χμμ... πώς να γίνεται άραγε αυτό;

3. Απομάκρυνση Αρχείων
Στο My Computer, ανοίξτε το φάκελλο C:\Windows\System και διαγράψτε τα αρχεία:

nvsvc64.exe ή
rpmsvc.exe ή
mdn.exe

(εξαρτάται από το variant που έχετε κολλήσει).

Πιθανώς αυτά να είναι Hidden. Θα πρέπει λοιπόν στο My Computer να επιλέξετε Tools > Folder Options > View > Show hidden files and folders για να τα δείτε. Καλό θα ήταν να ψάξετε και στα:

C:\Windows
C:\Windows\System32
C:\Windows\Temp

ή, ακόμα καλύτερα, να κάνετε ένα Search σε όλο το PC (για το όνομα αρχείου το οποίο εντοπίσατε στο Registry).

Επίσης, διαγράψτε και ό,τι αρχεία imageXX.zip υπάρχουν ενδεχομένως στα παραπάνω folders.

Αν πάνε καλά όλα αυτά, μάλλον έχετε απαλλαγεί από το Worm. Καλή Τύχη λοιπόν!
